Concrete Work and Asphalt Paving Progress

Week in Review: Accomplishments and Progress

This past week, the contractor continued preparing, framing, and pouring concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons. Concrete traffic signal post foundations were poured, and sanitary manhole reconstructions were completed. The contractor also paved the first two lifts of asphalt for driveway aprons, a section of the parking lot south of Camp McDonald Rd, and the roadway patching at Edward Rd. Nicor Gas remained on-site, adjusting utilities to allow for continued storm sewer installation, with some driveway aprons awaiting completion in Nicor’s work zone.

Looking Ahead: Planned Activities

In the upcoming week, the contractor will focus on finishing the final lift of asphalt for the driveway aprons, the section of the parking lot south of Camp McDonald Rd, and the roadway patching at Edward Rd. Grading and shaping of ditches will continue, along with the preparation, framing, and pouring of concrete sidewalks. Additionally, storm sewer work at Old Willow Road will resume once Nicor Gas completes utility relocation in the area. Nicor Gas will continue adjusting utilities to support ongoing construction efforts.

Residents along the project limits are kindly requested to maintain their parkways in areas not affected by active construction. For safety, please keep a respectful distance from any construction activities or disturbed ground.

Community Impact: What to Expect
